Bintan Escape! Day 1!

Video of the trip HERE (Part 1) & HERE (Part 2)

It was a very impromptu and last minute trip to Bintan with the 2 cray cray women.

Was excited that I could travel with Mr Lah for the last trip of the year.
His job requires him to be busy for the CNY period, so this short getaway was just the great way to end the 2014 with him.

Yah, as always, the forced face when asked to take picture!

And fast forward! Our first selfie on the island of Bintan!
We stayed at Nirwana Resort Hotel Bintan, and there was a free shuttle which too us from the ferry terminal to the resort.
The resort was a stones throw away and we literally took only less than 5 minutes to get to the resort lobby.

As we arrived a tad too early, we weren't able to check in, so the typical tourists' calls for activities in the resort. Headed to the resorts' Recreation Centre to check out the activities that they offer.

As it was about 10am Bintan time, most activities were not open (BOWLING!!!)So we had to chill by the cafe before we decided on the shooting range.

FYI: the pricing of the F&B are all comparable to the pricings in Singapore or even Sentosa!

That's the only setback though.
The rest of the experience was great.

Finally! the bowling centre was open.
The front desk did give us 2 coupons for bowling, so free of course play luh! hahaha

Team Chio Bu! *HAHAAHHAHAHA*

Team Enemy!

Im not telling you who won! hahahha

Played some ping pong before it was time to check in.
We changed and got ready to check out the beach nearest to our resort front.

This is awkward. What you don't see behind the camera.

They managed to catch a mini hermit crab and was very amused by it! There were so many little hermit crabs around.

  My scary back view. hahahhahahahahha!

Took the darkest ride of our lives into the village area and to the end of the island, to reach a really delicious kelong place.

Thinking long and hard, what to order, as all the dishes seemed delicious!

The happy couple ordered!

FOOD IS SERVED!!!! WOWOWOWOWOWOW!
I know you're having a very bad craving and am thinking of heading to chomp chomp this very moment right... *Raise eyebrows*
 Kangkong
 Cereal Sotong
 Butter prawn
 salted egg crab

this ended off our day 1 in Bintan!
The dinner was great, and I'm still yearning for it till today!

Locks of Love

So, Seoul and Paris have their very own Locks of Love, but so do we in Singapore!
Clarke Quay Central does have a small corner for couples to lock their locks.
So for those whom have always wanted to lock your very own lock, you may now do so at Clarke Quay Central!

This is the current Locks of Love display.
And the thing is, it is interesting to see the types of locks that couples are willing to go all out to prove their love for each other. Haha

And so, recently, I did a project for Clarke Quay Central for their Locks of Love display.
Work in progress, but we do have tourists taking photos at the display.

Just in case you're wondering where its located, it is just by the entrance of the mall, walking towards the River. Exiting the mall, you would turn right towards the River promenade, and you would be able to see the lighted display.

So, all you have to do is to purchase a lock from the lock machine located just at the entrance of the mall, 4x $1 coins (Old coins). Alternatively, you may wish to purchase the locks from the Customer Service Counter, located just outside Subway. (That is if you have problems with the machine, or you do not have 4 old Singapore coins.)

Slotting the coins in!

Upon purchasing, I wanted to leave our names on the lock, so I decided to ink our name down on the lock! The lock comes in a small capsule ball, with 3 keys and a note of the display.

Time to lock it in!

Depends on you, but we decided to add our polaroid on the lock to commemorate this moment.
(Please ignore the ugly duct tape- we just didn't want the photo to get all eeky and wet)

Me doing the honours of locking the lock on the display!

Voila! Its done!
As simple as that.

Of course, you have to throw the keys into the river! and ya, I suggest letting either one person to throw it in, and not to hold hands to throw it in together. Our key was stuck at the bottom stairs as we didn't throw in sync with each other! hahah! so poor Soon Keong had to risk his life, not falling into the river, and climb down the narrow river stairs to pick up the key. Only successful of throwing the key into the river on the second attempt!

I wish all couples all the best and may your life be filled with Love and joy. <3
