Bintan Escape! Day 1!

Video of the trip HERE (Part 1) & HERE (Part 2)

It was a very impromptu and last minute trip to Bintan with the 2 cray cray women.

Was excited that I could travel with Mr Lah for the last trip of the year.
His job requires him to be busy for the CNY period, so this short getaway was just the great way to end the 2014 with him.

Yah, as always, the forced face when asked to take picture!

And fast forward! Our first selfie on the island of Bintan!
We stayed at Nirwana Resort Hotel Bintan, and there was a free shuttle which too us from the ferry terminal to the resort.
The resort was a stones throw away and we literally took only less than 5 minutes to get to the resort lobby.

As we arrived a tad too early, we weren't able to check in, so the typical tourists' calls for activities in the resort. Headed to the resorts' Recreation Centre to check out the activities that they offer.

As it was about 10am Bintan time, most activities were not open (BOWLING!!!)So we had to chill by the cafe before we decided on the shooting range.

FYI: the pricing of the F&B are all comparable to the pricings in Singapore or even Sentosa!

That's the only setback though.
The rest of the experience was great.

Finally! the bowling centre was open.
The front desk did give us 2 coupons for bowling, so free of course play luh! hahaha

Team Chio Bu! *HAHAAHHAHAHA*

Team Enemy!

Im not telling you who won! hahahha

Played some ping pong before it was time to check in.
We changed and got ready to check out the beach nearest to our resort front.

This is awkward. What you don't see behind the camera.

They managed to catch a mini hermit crab and was very amused by it! There were so many little hermit crabs around.

  My scary back view. hahahhahahahahha!

Took the darkest ride of our lives into the village area and to the end of the island, to reach a really delicious kelong place.

Thinking long and hard, what to order, as all the dishes seemed delicious!

The happy couple ordered!

FOOD IS SERVED!!!! WOWOWOWOWOWOW!
I know you're having a very bad craving and am thinking of heading to chomp chomp this very moment right... *Raise eyebrows*
 Kangkong
 Cereal Sotong
 Butter prawn
 salted egg crab

this ended off our day 1 in Bintan!
The dinner was great, and I'm still yearning for it till today!

D'Kranji Farm Resort Staycation

Click my nuffnang ad on the right!

Happy Mid Autumn Festival and Loves for my sissy!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVIL TWIN.

Saturday afternoon, we all made our way to D'Kranji Farm Resort.
Arrived after check-in time, but apparently, room wasn't ready.
So we waited at the outdoor beer garden area till the room was done.

Waited for about half an hour and the room was finally done.
It was just a 1 bedroom chalet. Private car porch, big toilet and a queen bed with a sofa.
The toilet was 3/4 the size of the room. There was also a sauna and a jacuzzi bath tub.
Not bad I must say, but a little too cramped for big groups like us.
There wasn't much to do as well.
But of course, the little one had a mini swimming pool to play in!
All excited about the water.

Since it was still early, we headed out to the beer garden for round 1!
Yes, a jump shot was a must.

Failed attempt 1

Almost but not quite there yet!

Major Fail.

Nope, still not there yet.

And....

We just decided on a walking random shot.

Headed to the BBQ area out near the beer garden.

Trying his hardest to break loose the crab meat!

And this is what you get!! HAHA

All hard at work, whilst I was in comfort of holding the camera and snapping the pictures away.
Yes, away from the HEAT!

The young and the old definitely have the best position of sitting and waiting for the food to be ready.

Is this not delicious or what!
I bet you're craving for some sort of juicy and oily BBQ-ed food now.
Well, so am I.

Not forgetting a birthday song for the Birthday girl.

Followed by our tradition of carrying the lanterns.
Yup, we do this every year.

Played with some sparklers to create lines of light.

Here's wishing all an awesome mid autumn festival, may your life be as full as the moon.

xoxo,
Cherylhee
